Description
The image in the Sooke Harbour stud and drop earrings is a viewpoint from Whiffen Spit, a fortified sandspit protecting the Sooke basin from stormy Pacific Ocean waters. Known by locals as “The Spit,” its trails are well worn and play host to park benches and washed-up logs.
“I’ll meet you at the Spit.”
It’s a meeting place for friends, dog walkers and beachcombers. It is the inspiration for Jill’s inaugural design of her West Coast Collection of cameos and wearable art pieces. It serves as a poignant reminder of the shoreline’s ability to connect us together.
Jill uses professional-grade polymer clay when sculpting the soaring trees and jagged shorelines of her Sooke Harbour cameo-style earrings. Set in fine or sterling silver, each pair of earrings is made by hand in her private studio.
